By Switching to Webcloser, Ticor Title Services
of Houston Saves Thousands and Discovers Other Benefits As Well
After working with RamQuest’s Complete Closing for a little over
a year, Ticor Title Services of Houston, TX. found itself in the position
to open a new office. While planning for this office, Ticor focused heavily
on which type of information system they were going to use. Since they
were very happy with Complete Closing, software was not a major concern.
The challenge Ticor faced was in choosing the way to link the two offices
together.
Ticor had considered many networking options and had studied the costs
and benefits of each different type. One option would have been to build
an entirely separate network at the new site. However, the new site was
small and the cost of building and maintaining another server network
for three workers was out of the question. Another option for Ticor was
to use a T-1 line to connect the remote site to the server at the main
office. They quickly discovered that the price for a T-1 is quite high
when more economically viable options were considered. Other options such
as dial up networking were considered but were found nonviable for one
reason or another. After considering all options, Ticor decided to switch
over to Webcloser, RamQuest’s On-Line Version of Complete Closing.
Using cutting edge Internet technology, Webcloser lets its users operate
and run applications from a server located on the RamQuest site. All
that Ticor needed at the new location was a PC and an Internet connection.
In addition, the network at the main office was no longer needed to run
their closing applications. This provided benefits that Ticor openly welcomed.
Network maintenance costs dropped and Ticor employees could now run all
RamQuest applications from the homes. If for some reason the accountant
could not make it in to the office, she could just as easily work on the
escrow accounting from her living room. With a laptop, closings could
be completed from anywhere.
