Botts Title Company Administers Data from
Five Counties in One Centralized Location
Before the introduction of RamQuest Software’s Complete Plant application
and a wide area network, Botts Title Company’s five separate offices
operated as five separate companies. Each office contained a totally independent
DOS based information system that was incapable of communicating with
systems at other sites. This decentralization of data can lead to loss
of data security, integrity, and control. After considering their options,
Botts Title decided on a wide area network and RamQuest Software.
Botts Title Company built an extensive wide area network between its offices
in order to facilitate the Complete Plant and Complete Closing applications.
All of their data is stored securely in a centralized server and can now
be shared across the WAN. As a result, administration of information has
become more efficient and the data has become more secure. Complete Plant
makes life even easier with its unique plant-switching feature. Botts
Title has information from five separate counties on its server. To keep
this data separated and error free, each county has its own, independent
database. When the Complete Plant program is opened, the employee simply
selects the applicable county. The corresponding database is then opened
for the program and work for that office may begin. Administration for
these databases is executed in the same manner. The manager chooses the
applicable county and begins his administrative duties.
As a result of the implementation of Complete Plant and the wide area
network, Botts Title Company leaped in to the 21st century. Their data
is now secure and easily managed from a single location. Communication
is now easier than ever. Botts Title Company’s 117 years of experience
