Title Companies of Brazos County Share Resources and Cut Expenses

Take Off Inc., a joint venture of American Land Title of Brazos County and Lawyers Title of Brazos County, has provided savings and other benefits to its parent companies. Take Off Inc. is owned by both title companies and is comprised of just two employees who office in the Brazos County courthouse. By jointly funding Take Off Inc., the two title companies are each able to save roughly $1500.00 every month and are able to take advantages of added security and support that they provide each other.

Take Off Inc. is responsible for the document scanning and plant data entry for both companies. The images are scanned in to the system at the courthouse using Complete Image from RamQuest Software. The images are then imported to a removable hard drive in the computer located at the courthouse. Plant data entry is handled in the same manner. The information is entered into the Complete Plant Program and saved to the same removable hard drive. That hard drive is then removed, placed in its carrier, and transported to one of the two title companies. There, the hard drive is installed and the images and plant data is downloaded into the system. The plant data becomes part of the electronic plant, managed by Complete Plant. The images can now be retrieved through Complete Image or can be used as a source for entry of plant data, thanks to RamQuest’s fully integrated systems. The same process is repeated at the other company.

Aside from the cost cutting advantages of Take Off Inc., American Land Title and Lawyers Title receive the benefits of extra security and support. Natural disasters, prolonged power outages, and user error can cause loss of data in all information systems. In addition to the backups implemented by RamQuest, American Land and Lawyers have each other to fall back on. If images get lost or destroyed at one site, a copy can be made and sent to the other with very little time or effort.
